So as you know, I have been making money online and quite successfully from Facebook. I have set up this blog to talk about my journey as I try to conquer making money with YouTube. I was actually quite worried about this as I only knew the theory behind it and this would be the first time I would try it. But never the less, I quickly set up this blog and set about.

Making money off YouTube – not hard at all!

You know, I think I have it figured out.

No introduction to this post, we are all because we want to learn how to make money off youtube. So let’s get started.

My idea is simple. What I will try to accomplish is to put together a video which makes people want to share it on facebook and show it to their friends, this creating this viral effect. You can already see where I am going with this right? I will not try and rank for keywords and try and make my videos come up first in YouTube searches because I have read that no-one has yet found a verified method to get videos to rank higher. But I am guessing the number of views and the video ratings has most of not all influence.

Never the less, I am not going to try and find out. Instead, I will create a video which word of mouth will promote. And for the initial views? For the initial views I will buy views! Ok so that’s great. I have worked out how I will promote my videos, but the questions is still there.

How to make money on YouTube?

In my previous post I have outlined several methods of making money off YouTube and I have said that I will try to buy videos and create videos about several different niches. I am most definitely not trying to become a YT partner. So, can you and I make money on YouTube?

Let’s find out!

First of all, we need to find a niche. A niche which doesn’t have that many competing videos, and has quite a lot of monthly searches (which you can find here). I was very lucky and found one in a few minutes, and so I am ready to go! Next step: create a video which people will want to share and pass on to their friends. Here is the list that you should do in order to achieve this:

  • Make it very informative. Give lot’s of relevant content away.
  • Have a crazy opening, fixing your viewers eyes to the screen.
  • Make the whole video crazy and entertaining, making people want to share it. Not funny, but crazy!
  • Just when you think it can’t be any more crazier, make it more crazier!

And that’s it! Believe it or not, I have read in a fantastic guide, written by a YouTube pro (actually known as the YouTube king, check him out), that the one ingredient that your video needs is craziness!

So now I have my video done and it is uploaded to YouTube. Guess what? My video was automatically ranked on the first page for the keyword in YouTube! Once again, I have become extremely lucky. Next step: optimizing the video for money!

I simply pasted my affiliate link into the description and added an annotation inside the video which also pointed to my affiliate link. So, you are wondering how to make money with youtube. I am too.

YouTube can be very profitable

This blog is here to follow my journey as I try to crack the YouTube code so to speak and generate not just some affiliate commissions from it, but a consistent income from it. So let’s start!

First of all, the question I have asked myself before starting is can you make money on youtube?

The answer was yes as a quick Google search has presented me with thousands of results of people talking about success stories, but there were many different types of ways that people made money off youtube. Which leads me to my next question.

How to make money with YouTube?

There are a number of ways you can make money off YouTube. Of course, you can become a YouTube partner. That is out of the question for me I guess. Becoming a YouTube partner means that YouTube will pay you approximately $2 for every thousand views your video has. In order to make a good, consistant income from this, you need to make lot’s of super high quality content videos that many people will want to watch. Extremely hard to do and I will not even try to become a YouTube celebrity.

Another way is to create a review/promotional video for a product which for every sale pays you commissions and buy views for it. Not from cheap websites which will probably provide you with fake views but from YouTube itself. You can make your video a Promoted video which therefore gains you lot’s of views. However, a downside is that it is relatively expensive, about $0.10 for each view and I guess it would be considerably higher for promoting videos about weight loss or six pack abs.

A final way which I would want to talk about is buying videos. This is another way to make money with YouTube and is probably one that I will try out first. Basically, it would involve me scouting for videos which come up first for a particular search term and try and find a product which can be associated with that video and contact the YouTuber, owning a video asking them to place my affiliate link into their description for some cash in return. My only trouble is that I guess when I will contact someone about this they will find out for themselves that they would make more money by placing their own affiliate link into their description and make money off YouTube for themselves. I have never tried this before, but that was my prediction.
